New Zealand Secondary Schools Tournament Week brings together top level secondary schools individuals and teams to compete in their chosen sports at a variety of venues around the country. For many this will be the highlight of the sporting year.
New Zealand Secondary Schools Tournament Week has long been a focus for Sacred Heart to compete at a National level. With both a summer and winter tournament week, the College now sends a significant number of its premier teams to these events. In recent years our Rowers, 1st and 2nd XI Football, 1st XI Hockey, 1st V Basketball, Premier Tennis team and under-15 Rugby teams have competed strongly and achieved significant success at these tournaments:
Premier Water Polo - National title holder 2014, 2013, North Island Champs 2014 and 2015, Trans-Tasman Champs 2013/14
1st XI Football – National title holder 2011, 2014 and 2016; 2nd place 2015; 3rd place 2012
1st XI Hockey – Woolaston Trophy runners-up, 2012; Johnson Cup runners-up, 2013, qualified for 2015 Nationals
2nd XI Football – Trident Tournament 3rd place, 2012
Premier Tennis – 3rd place, 2011 and 2013
Premier Rowing – 2012 Maadi Cup results: The under-15 Eight – Bronze, under-18 Lightweight Four – Bronze; 2013 Maadi Cup results: The under-18 Lightweight coxed Four - Bronze, under-15 Lightweight coxed Four - Bronze; 2015 Maadi Cup results: under-18 Novice Eight - GOLD, Under-18 Novice Four - Silver
