Congratulations to Sebastian Lardies who came 3rd overall and 2nd New Zealander at the Toyota Optimist National Championships raced in Wellington during the Easter break.
After the 2015 season qualifying regattas, concluding with the Nationals, Sebastian finished Number 1 in the NZ Optimist rankings.
Sebastian has been invited to represent New Zealand at the Optimist World Championships to be held in Poland at the end of August. The coach for the NZ world’s team will be his older brother Francisco (SHC Sportsperson 2005) who is working towards a comprehensive training plan in preparation for this event.
Younger Sacred Heart students competing at the Nationals were Mathew Ross (20th Silver Fleet) and Pablo Schone de la Nuez (28th Bronze Fleet).
