Debating update, 8 May 2015

Last week the Advanced debating teams had a win and a loss. The loss was a default arising from students attending the Level 2 Excellence evening. SHC#1 remained true to the cause, sacrificing their stomachs, and brought home their third victory from three. The moot was centered on John Key’s pony tail pulling performance.

The Premier Junior teams both had excellent wins continuing their unbeaten form with victories over teams from Westlake Boys and Westlake Girls High School. Their moot was whether New Zealand should send troop to combat ISIL.

In the following week all four Junior teams won defeating Pakuranga College, Howick College, MacLeans and Glendowie College. Theirs was an advised topic moot on New Zealand’s capital city.

The Seniors came through with three victories to SHC#1 and SHC#2 against St Kents and Sir Edmund Hillary; SHC#3 won by default. Again it was an advised topic moot, this time on military drones.
