Public Speaking – Race Unity and United Nations

Jayden Key  Race Unity Speech Competition, 2015

Friday marked the end of Jayden’s journey in the Race Unity Speech Competition. This was the fourth time Jayden had delivered his speech as he made it through the Auckland heats, then on to the National heats. He was eliminated at this point as it came down to the final six. The standard from the competitors was very high this year.  Jayden was electric in his delivery, engaging and captivating his audience with his flair and enjoyment of oratory. Jayden has been a pleasure to work with and his dedication to the task has been exemplary.  Jayden’s confidence, sense of fun, flair with language and his unique style of delivery was appreciated by the adjudicators.

Aaron Dahmen – United Nations Speech Competition

Aaron represented Sacred Heart at the United Nations public speaking competition held on May 20. Aaron won the Auckland division with his speech on the role of the United Nations in promoting Global Citizenship.  Aaron rose to the occasion delivering a polished, humorous account engaging his audience in his subject. He will now proceed to Wellington to compete inside Parliament in the National competition on June 5 with other representatives from around New Zealand.  The winner of this competition will then go forward to compete in Australia with other competitors from around the Pacific.  Aaron, like Jayden,  has been a delight to work with.
