Aaron Dahmen (Year 12) represented Auckland in the United Nations public speaking contest down in Wellington on Friday the 5 June. He was flown to Wellington for the day to compete in the old Legislative chamber in Parliament. The topic was based on the idea of Globalisation and how New Zealand can contribute to that goal on the Security Council.
Aaron competed against other regional finalists. Aaron didn’t get a placing, but spoke with passion and conviction on his topic. He was congratulated by many in the audience for his enthusiasm and sincerity on the topic. Aaron is an amazing young man to work with. He was totally dedicated to the task and demonstrated promise as an orator for the future.
