Head of Harbour, 2016

Sacred Heart Rowing enjoyed a very fruitful day at Lake Pupuke on Sunday, coming away with four GOLD, five SILVER and two BRONZE medals. A medal haul that gave us the second most points for a boys school.  It was a very hot day with light winds on the lake which made for excellent racing conditions.

Old Boys Race
For the first time in a long time we had a crew of Sacred Oarsman (Old Boys) including our new colleague Liam Bradley take the track and come off victorious. They take home the Head of Harbour Old Boys Eight Race trophy for the first time. The current squad cheered them on from the bank and also welcomed them bank to the boat park following the race.

New Tradition
The squad were joined by two van loads of hostel boys on the bank to send our U18 eight off to their race with a resounding haka. It set the scene for what turned out to be an extremely exciting final race of the day.
