A small team of talented athletes represented Sacred Heart well at the NZSS Duathlon Champs held in Pukekohe over the weekend. Jayden Boughey at his first national champs raced bravely in the Junior boys race finishing a creditable 9th. The intermediate boys field was the largest of the day and Matthew Wynne was right in the thick of the action finishing in 8th. We had two teams representing SHC in the intermediate boys teams race. The team of Andrew Matthews and Milligan Hudson were battling for a medal only to just miss out finishing 5th, with Ben Verhaaren and Cameron Davies close behind in 7th. James Matthews was hoping to add to his medal from the triathlon nationals earlier in the year, however an off day saw him finish in 10th place. A great experience was had by all racing and footing it with the future champions in multisport.
