It has been a turbulent week for Debating. On Monday afternoon the Junior team went to Baradene with high hopes of working their way towards the Finals. With five wins from five in the round robin they had every right to be positive. However, there was to be no fairy tale ending; they were knocked out by Lynfield College.
On Tuesday the Premier Advanced team travelled to Tauranga for our annual fixture with Aquinas College. The boys were greeted by generous hosts who made them feel very welcome. They were presented with the motion: This House would ban political parties from receiving financial contributions from private donors. Proud to negate, the team put together a strong case. The Jane Schollum Cup has been returned to the trophy cabinet. Congratulations to Louis Addock, William Miller and Charlie Stone from bringing home the silverware!
