On 25 April, Anzac Day, a Commemorative Ceremony was held beginning at 10am at the St Heliers War Memorial on Tamaki Drive. On this the 102nd Anzac Day, we honoured the service personnel who fought in Gallipoli and in other conflicts in which New Zealand has been involved.
Sacred Heart was represented by Ted Dobbs, who read a letter composed by Walter Fowler at Ewshot Camp written on 17 September 1917. Ted spoke confidently and eloquently in front of an audience of over 1,000 people. He engaged his audience by speaking directly to them with his sustained use of eye contact, appearing to take ownership of the letter. Well done Ted, a polished delivery.
