Success at the Auckland Athletics Championships


On Tuesday 30 March, 24 of our students represented the College at the Auckland Athletics Championships, after qualifying from the Zone Champs two weeks prior.

With some difficult conditions on the track and field, our boys had some exceptionally strong performances. There were at least 12 Personal Best performances on the day. There were also a high number of very near medals in a number of events.

Our Medal winners were:

Thomas Dufty                  IB 2000m Steeplechase (new SHC Record)

Special congratulations to Thomas Wynne for his 4-medal haul (an exceptional feat), Emmett Connolly for his double, and to Thomas Dufty for his new School record (and very near Auckland Record). Eight boys have also been selected to represent Auckland at the upcoming NISS Athletics Championships in Hamilton. They are; Emmett Connolly, Taine Donaldson, Thomas Dufty, Luca Kneebone, Jake Liefting, Zach O’Dwyer, Charlie Richardson, and Thomas Wynne.
