School Examinations and Parent Teacher Interviews
Reports will be emailed home twice a year for each student following examinations. Parent Teacher Interviews will be held once a year, generally at the end of Term 2. These interviews are designed to feedback important information regarding how each student is progressing, and feed forward suggestions as to how each student can achieve at a higher level.
Mid-year: Reports will be emailed home during the July school holidays for all students.
End of year: Years 7 to 10 reports will be emailed home in Term 4, Week 8
Years 11 to 13 reports will be emailed home during the September school holidays.
Reports will also be available on the Parent Portal the same day they are emailed out.
At Sacred Heart College, students from Years 7 to 13 are required to sit internal school exams at the end of the year. These examinations are an excellent tool for assessing each student’s attainment level, in order to see how they are achieving and what they need to revise to improve performance in each subject. The grades are a very good guide to what each senior student needs to focus on prior to NCEA examinations in November.
All students are expected to attend each examination and to stay for the full time allocated. Marks gained in these examinations can be used for derived grades. A derived grade will be used if students are unable to attend the NCEA examinations at the end of the year due to illness or bereavement.
