Hockey

Hockey is a much-enjoyed extra-curricular activity for many students at our college. Prior to 2010 we had one hockey team which competed in the B or C grade each year. In 2010 we fielded 3 teams and since then we have had up to 6 teams as well as our Year 7 and 8 Wednesday afternoon teams.

In 2012 the 1st XI made it into the top Intercity round in Auckland and then in 2013 the new Supercity competition where the top teams from Auckland and North Harbour compete.  We played in the Supercity competition until 2018, returning to B grade in 2019 as we had a young team who needed to build experience.  The 2019 team was very successful in this grade under the expert coaching of Mark Kake and we look forward to a successful season under his guidance in 2020.  The 1st XI also comptete an the national tier 3 tournament.

We are proud of our Old Boys who have made representative teams:

NZ U21 – Mark Bell-Kake
NZ U18 – Vincent O’Connor, Michael Balle and Mark Bell-Kake
Auckland - Joseph O’Connor, Kieran O’Connor, Vincent O’Connor and Scott Walden.
Counties Manukau – Michael Balle
