Scholarship Success 2023
We are very pleased to report on the following scholarship results for 2023.
Students at our College gained 56 scholarships, a record high for the College. Individual stand-out performances from Year 13 were, Anthony Hawke (7 scholarships), Joseph Bahoo (5 scholarships), and Cole McCarthy, Matt Schuler and Jonty Turnbull (including one Outstanding scholarship in Religious Education) with 3. From Year 12, David Bergin, Jacob Fairweather and Armand Spencer with 2 scholarships. Three Year 11 students, Daniel Doherty, Ethan Kelly and Zhen Ng all gained one scholarship, while Yee Sum (Sam) Chan in Year 10 gained a Calculus scholarship.
Students who gain 3 or more scholarships in a year are awarded $2000 each year for 3 years of tertiary study and as a College, we also recognize this by inscribing their names on our Scholars’ Honours board in the Auditorium.
Congratulations to each and every boy who gained scholarships, we are extremely proud of you and know the effort that went into this success.
Thanks go to all our teachers, particularly those who ran scholarship programmes last year. Your dedication, commitment and expertise are very much appreciated. It is important to note that to obtain a scholarship, candidates must be in the top 3% of marks and 1% to obtain an Outstanding scholarship. These results signify we have many top academic boys at a National level. Special thanks to Mrs Mary Graham and Mr Jason Cornford who are key drivers in this area with dedicated teachers.
