Scholarships

At Sacred Heart College we have limited scholarships available each year, largely for those who would otherwise not be able to attend the College, and are applying for Year 7 or Year 9. All Scholarship Applications must be accompanied by an Online Enrolment Application, Student Personal Statement, Family Financial Position and have a Confidential Report provided by the student's current school.

The two types of scholarships available are:

  • Endeavour Scholarships
  • Development Foundation Scholarships

To apply for a Scholarship, you will need to complete the following, along with the Online Enrolment Application Form:

Endeavour Scholarships

The Endeavour Scholarship Programme was launched by the Governor-General of New Zealand in October 2001. The programme is open to Maori and Pasifika Catholic boys for intake at Year 7 or Year 9, and is designed for students who display leadership potential, academic ability and participate in cultural activities.

  • Applicants must be a prospective student and hold a Preference Certificate as outlined in the Enrolment Scheme and Preference Certificate information.
  • Students must be of Maori or Pasifika descent.
  • Students must show strong leadership attributes, hold leadership roles and/or have supporting reference documentation.
  • Students should be actively participating in their culture and be able to share their skills and knowledge with the wider Sacred Heart College community.
  • This is a scholarship for families in need of financial assistance which includes contribution towards College fees and some compulsory school expenses up to a nominated amount. Boarding fees will be considered if the student lives out of the Auckland area (from Year 9).
  • Each year there is an annual review of the performance of the scholarship holder against attitude and commitment criteria.
  • Students must be New Zealand citizens or hold New Zealand residency visas and reside in New Zealand.
  • Applicants must have been enrolled as a full-time student at a New Zealand school for at least the last three school years.
  • In the event of there being no candidates, who reach a sufficiently high standard, scholarships may not be awarded.
  • Students currently attending Sacred Heart College are not eligible to apply.
  • The decision of the Headmaster is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
